Each year the local high school hosts a Mascot Bowl. What's that you ask because it sounds absurd? Wait til you hear what it really is. All the local mascots and several from around the country (Denver, Indianapolis to name a few) come to play football. They play against the eighth graders. Really, eighth graders against mascots. It's hilarious! The mascots are there to entertain and entertain they do! Jerry Sloan, former Jazz head coach, was the mascot coach this year. It's all for charity and so fun! This is our second year attending and I think we'll make it a family tradition.

See, Savannah really was happy.

Before the game starts the mascots are all on the field for autographs and pictures. As you can see, Zachary was the only one brave enough to be up close to the mascots but for some reason wouldn't look at the camera. I hear the Jazz dancers were doing their thing and he was watching them.

We got to our camera too late, but a moment before this the mascots were all lined up walking out to start the game.

Sorry for the really bad picture, but if you can see past the blur you can see the mascots all lined up for a play.

A while back when I was trying to decide on better lessons for our Family Home Evenings, I decided that talking about things that our family needed to work on and applying scripture to these things so that the kids could see a greater purpose, was the best route for our family. These past two weeks we've been working on being on time for church, and not just on time but early so we weren't grumpy and so that we could add to the spirit of the meeting instead of detract. Part of being on time meant no giving mom and dad a hard time about getting dressed/hair done so that mom and dad could focus on what needed to get done without arguing. At the end of our two week challenges there is usually a reward for accomplishing it. This has been working really well. Two weeks seems to be the best amount of time to prove that we can do things and having a tangible reward really motivates these guys. What a long back story for this picture.

Well, we accomplished our last two week goal and the reward was milkshakes. We would have gone Monday, but it was Ryan's birthday and we had other plans so last night it was. These were the good milkshakes too. What this picture doesn't tell you is Ryan ended up in the car shortly after this waiting for us because he was sick. Bummer for him because he really likes milkshakes.

I haven't allowed myself much time lately to update this, but I thought I'd give you a few photos to keep you on the hook.

"Don't worry mom, I've got the milk." Can't you just see him saying that with his eyes?

Me and Nina were reading a book the other day and we come to this picture and Nina says, "Mommy, it's daddy!". Ha ha ha ha.

These three went on a nice Saturday bike ride. Luckys.

Ryan didn't have time the other day to mow the whole lawn so him and the kids decided to mow "MOM" into the backyard. Funny. They also mowed "GRASS" in the front yard. What a bunch of weirdos.
