We just got back from a mini vacation to St. George. It was extremely hot but loads of fun. This is the first time the four of us have gone away overnight together.

So we took off Friday afternoon and landed in George (as Seth calls it) around 7:30 pm. After a yummy dinner we checked into our hotel and headed out to the pool.

Seth was so excited to have his very own bed, although sometime during the first night he brought Elmo and his blanket onto our bed and decided to sleep with us. Maybe had a hard time sleeping in her little jail cell. Normally she's really good about going to sleep at night as long as she's in her own crib with all the lights out.

Saturday was a super fun and super busy day. We drove over to Snow Canyon State Park and took the kiddos on their very first hike. The first hike was called Jenny's Canyon.

All that hiking can make a fella hungry

It was so hot and the kiddos were tired so Seth and Ryan went back to the hotel to rest (and work) while Mabes and I hit the outlets. Sorry, no pictures of this part of the trip. I always have a good time when I get to hang out with just one of the kids, especially when it's shopping.

Next on our schedule was Jumpin' Jacks. It's a ginormous building with tons and tons of bouncy slides. I thought Seth would LOVE it. Boy was I wrong. He spent a majority of the time crying, while Mabes was going down huge slides all by herself and having a great time. She really does have a more outgoing personality of the two. Seth did have some fun on some of the smaller slides. We were all so sweaty from the bounce house we decided to head to Costco for an ice cream treat. Yuuuuuummy. Sorry, for some reason we didn't take any pictures of these things either.

Once we were all rested and cooled off we headed back up to Snow Canyon. We did a hike called Pioneer Names. Up on the mountain some pioneers have written their names with axel grease. Pretty cool to think of the pioneers having walked where we were.

Our last hike was out to some sand dunes. I had done my research before we went so I made sure I brought Seth's outside toys. He would have stayed and dug in the sand all night if we had let him.

After dinner at The Pasta Factory the kids were so tired and it was so late it was back to the hotel for baths and bed. Both kiddos slept really well the second night. I don't think either one of them are used to so much activity in one day.

Sunday we woke up and went to an hour of church, checked out of our hotel, and made one last stop on our vacation to the St. George temple.
